What happens to a private note?

Temporary text, downloads, and their limits.

The note field holds text in the open page. This edition has no note submission, account sync, automatic site storage, or public note search.

Download note asks the browser to create a text file. Once downloaded, that copy follows your device’s storage, backup, sync, and sharing settings. A person with access to the device may be able to see it.

Clear note empties the field, not earlier downloads or copies. Leaving or refreshing may discard the temporary text. Browser behavior can vary, so an exit is not a secure-erasure claim.

These limits describe the note feature. They are not a promise about every browser extension, shared device, or external service.
