A thoughtful handoff

Help the next person without surrendering your own work.

Prepare the particular version you intend to hand off. A useful note names the work, the requested action, the intended recipient, what remains undecided, and the permission being given.

Teaching example: “Here is the second version of my reading. Please check the opening paragraph. It is for this review only; publication remains undecided.” This is an example, not a message sent by Room to Pause.

Keep originator, contributor, editor, and approver distinct where those roles matter. An editor’s changes do not erase the earlier author or the original material.

This edition cannot send a handoff. Download your note or copy the public reading address, then use your chosen service. Check its recipient and delivery state. Receipt of material does not itself establish agreement to the work requested.
