Components that keep the page usable

Separate atmosphere from the words and controls.

Keep decorative scenery separate from meaningful text. Headings, sign labels, navigation, and controls belong in selectable HTML. An image of a button is not an operable button.

Use shared components for the utility navigation, area links, reading cards, note controls, and status messages. Preserve the order Search, Guides, Leave Anytime, Help and Gather, Dream, Reflect, Learn.

Design tokens should describe spacing, color, typography, focus, and motion. Safe-area spacing must use the real viewport. At narrow widths or large text, reflow in order instead of shrinking the entire composition.

Use system font stacks or existing fonts with suitable permission. Do not distribute unlicensed font files. Keep decorative images out of the reading order and meaningful icons paired with text.
